Sean Curran says of this CD, “Jesus came to do more than get us into heaven, He came to get heaven into us.” This album is woven with the notion that God longs to be found in our ordinary lives. While we don’t spend the majority of our time in such amazing locations, I believe we have a tendency to imagine ourselves living in such a world. It’s why I find the word “basic” appealing. It’s more like something fundamental or foundational than it is simple or easy. Frequently, we look to faith for things that it isn’t attempting to provide for us. Faith is the ability to trust WHO is guiding the path, not the ability to know what lies ahead every step of the journey.
Despite the fact that this is his first extended studio work, since signing his first record deal with the Billboard chart-ranking band Bellarive at the age of 22, Curran has made a name for himself as a reflective and imaginative lyricist. Joining the Sixstepsrecords family in 2018, he has contributed a plethora of hits, including “Bigger Than I Thought,” “Glorious Day,” “1000 Names,” and most recently “He Who Is To Come.” Well-known for his own artistic vision, Basic Faith creates fresh sounds and genres that offer a way for listeners to return to the core ideas of their faith.
