Dennis Quaid’s Fallen: A Gospel Record for Sinners DVD, hosted by renowned Gospel music figure Bill Gaither, is now available from Gaither Music Group. The TV special will premiere on UPtv as part of the network’s “Bring the Spring” programming lineup.
Filmed at Gaither Studios in Alexandria, Ind., Fallen showcases Quaid’s captivating performances of seven hymns and classics, as well as five original songs. In addition, the actor/singer/songwriter engages in an inspiring conversation with Bill Gaither, sharing his journey of redemption and message of eternal hope.
Released on July 28, 2023, Fallen made an impressive debut by claiming the top spot on the Top Christian/Gospel Albums chart and securing a position in the Top 15 on Billboard’s Top 200 Christian/Gospel chart. The album also achieved No. 1 rankings on Amazon’s Best Sellers in CDs & Vinyl, Hot New Releases in Christian & Gospel, and Best Sellers in Country charts.
To celebrate the album’s release, Quaid graced the cover of PEOPLE magazine’s August issue. In the feature, he provided an inside look into The Clement House recording studio and his Nashville home, while discussing topics such as faith, love, and second chances. Quaid also performed the title track on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
According to USA Today, “Dennis Quaid’s Christianity takes center stage in his new album, paying tribute to the faith that helped him overcome addiction.” Variety adds, “His unwavering commitment to his music and Christian beliefs, which originated during his upbringing in Texas, is powerfully and emotionally portrayed.” Garden & Gun summarizes, “Dennis Quaid’s illustrious career spanning nearly five decades is characterized by both its prolific nature and exceptional quality. Whether on the silver screen, small screen, or through his music, this Houston native has it all covered.”
Fallen was executively produced by Quaid, along with producers David R. “Fergie” Ferguson, Ben Isaacs, and Chris Lindsey. The Isaacs and Jackson Brumley provide background vocals on “I’ll Fly Away,” while The Oak Ridge Boys join Quaid on “Life’s.”
Originally featured on the soundtrack for Quaid’s faith-based film I CAN ONLY IMAGINE, the song “On My Way to Heaven” draws inspiration from the renowned actor’s public battle with addiction. In addition, Quaid courageously addresses his personal struggles and subsequent return to Christianity in tracks like the title song.
This 12-song compilation follows Quaid’s 2018 album, Out of the Box, which he describes as a diverse collection of American music. While Quaid thoroughly enjoys writing, recording, and acting in movies, music holds a special place in his heart as a Texas native. Over the past four decades, he has embarked on extensive tours, captivating audiences with his exceptional skills on both the piano and acoustic guitar. Quaid’s performances encompass a wide range of songs, from those featured on the Fallen soundtrack to beloved rock ‘n’ roll classics like “Great Balls of Fire!”—a tribute to the iconic musician he portrayed in the highly successful 1989 film.
Quaid is also recognized for his notable roles in films such as THE ROOKIE, THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, TRAFFIC, VANTAGE POINT, FREQUENCY, THE PARENT TRAP, SOUL SURFER, THE RIGHT STUFF, BREAKING AWAY, and MIDWAY. His recent acting endeavors include leading roles in Paramount+ series BASS REEVES, the Max miniseries FULL CIRCLE, Netflix’s uplifting film BLUE MIRACLE, Sony’s thrilling movie THE INTRUDER, Universal’s heartwarming films A DOG’S JOURNEY and A DOG’S PURPOSE, Roadside Attractions’ I CAN ONLY IMAGINE, and Disney’s animated feature STRANGE WORLD.
On April 12, 2024, Quaid’s production company, Bonniedale, will release THE LONG GAME, a film that tells the story of a group of Mexican American teen caddies who triumph over the all-white country clubs that once rejected them. Additionally, Quaid recently wrapped up production on the biographical film REAGAN, where he portrays the 40th president of the United States. The movie is scheduled for theatrical release on August 30, 2024.
